Conversations in the City

Cultivating Change
We invite you to gather for Conversations in the City, the event where community and agriculture unite for an exchange of ideas and sharing of knowledge. This year’s conversations will be held at the University of Tasmania, Inveresk Campus. Join us to learn from diverse perspectives and expand your professional and personal networks. We bring food, culture and conversations front and centre.
Conversations breathes life into a range of enlightening streams:
- Seeds of Transformation: Nurturing change in the paddock and beyond.
- The XX Factor: Cultivating Change through Ethical Investment
- Agritourism – Standing Out
Opening Keynote
This year’s event is headlined by Paul West, a passionate advocate of growing food in backyards, cooking simple, nutritious meals and fostering connections to community and country. Paul is a co-founder of Grow it Local, works as a broadcaster for the ABC, travelling to regional Australia for Backroads and talking science for Catalyst. He has also written and published three hugely popular cookbooks, “The River Cottage Australia Cookbook” ,“The Edible Garden” and most recently “Homegrown”.
Paul lives with his wife, 2 children and Digger, his dog, in Bermagui on the NSW South Coast. When he’s not on the road for the ABC, he can be found poking around in his garden, usually staring for extended periods at his chickens.
We’re thrilled to have Paul as our Keynote Speaker for Conversations in the City at agriCULTURED 2024. Paul West appears by arrangement with Claxton Speakers International.
Lunch – We gather over a beautifully curated lunch by Hubert & Dan to have conversation and share ideas.
Closing session – Ben Peacock founder of the Republic of Everyone will give a closing keynote, an inspirational speaker and advocate for sustainability and how doing good should be good for business. Ben will then lead a panel discussion on the UNESCO Sustainable Development Goals and Cultivating Change – how we can all support change in this space. Can we be courageous enough to challenge the status quo? Are we ready to stand together to make meaningful change?
